IIT Roorkee is steadily strengthening its position in the rapidly evolving semiconductor domain in alignment with national priorities such as the India Semiconductor Mission and the broader vision of technological self-reliance. I am pleased to share that the institute has established the Centre for Semiconductor Design and Technology (CSDT) to advance focused research, education, and innovation in semiconductor science and engineering.

Through targeted research and development in semiconductor design, devices, fabrication, and manufacturing technologies, the Centre aims to support national objectives and contribute meaningfully to India’s growing semiconductor ecosystem. The Centre provides a common platform for faculty members across disciplines to collaborate, leveraging their diverse expertise to address complex challenges through an interdisciplinary approach.

The Centre is committed to imparting state-of-the-art knowledge and hands-on training in contemporary semiconductor technologies, while nurturing highly skilled human resources. By bridging academia, industry, and research, the Centre for Semiconductor Design and Technology will play a vital role in meeting the growing demands of India and the global semiconductor and electronics sectors.
